Summer Camp Western North Carolina

Be a part of the Tekoa Foothills experience!

Tekoa Foothills has a progressive overnight camp program, which encourages campers to engage in age-appropriate activities, allowing them to be challenged physically, mentally, and spiritually year after year. Overnight campers learn parallel lessons between these activities and their own personal spiritual walk. It is easy to spend time learning and reflecting in God's natural world and to feel Christ's presence throughout the week here at Tekoa Foothills.

Early Elementary Resident Camp For Ages 6-7

The best of Tekoa Foothills designed for our first-time or younger campers: swimming, songs & s'mores, campfires, field games, zipline, paddle boats, fishing and more! This is a high-energy week designed to keep campers busy from morning to evening, packed with extra pool time and a focus on growth through making new friends and experiencing new things.

Elementary Resident Camp For Ages 8-11

Every Foothills camper will have the opportunity to swim in the pool, indulge on the epic slip n slide, traverse the 400' lake zipline, ride canoes & paddle boats, plunge into the lake from the giant inflatable slide, and explore the magical bamboo forest all within the crafted community of their family group. All campers will experience Christian discipleship and community through the family group model. Elementary campers have the option to learn a new skill set during their camp experience for an additional fee. Local experts are recruited each week to instruct campers in their area of expertise: Horseback Riding, Paddling, Creative Arts, and Archery are just a few options available during select weeks through the summer.

Resident camps are organized into cabin groups. For Elementary Camp, each cabin group typically consists of 6-9 boys or 6-9 girls with a male or female counselor. This type of structure promotes strong camper-to-camper and camper-to-staff relationships. Cabin groups participate in all activities and meals together and are housed in our lodges. Cabin groups are organized by camper age within the Elementary program to differentiate age appropriate activities and challanges. This ensures that all campers have the best experience possible, from rising 1st graders to rising 6th graders!

Faith formation is central to our residental camp programs. Campers are encouraged to participate in morning watch, evening vespers, weekly worship. Campers are nurtured throughout the week with access to a devotional guide which provides age-appropriate engagement with scripture and lessons based on our summer theme. Guided by our highly trained staff, campers will experience authentic Christian commiunity and transformation.
