Missions & Summer Camp

Staff Opportunities

Tekoa Foothills has a unique hybrid summer opportunity for young adults to experience both Missions and Summer Camp in two unique sessions! Summer staff will develop leadership and communication skills, equiping them for a lifetime of good, while nurturing thier faith among community. Applicants may apply to work for either or both sessions!

Family Group Leaders/Counselors

Family Group Leaders (FGLs) make up the majority of the Tekoa Foothills summer camp staff. They are paired up with another Family Group Leader each week and together they are in charge of facilitating weekly camp activities for their assigned group of 14 boy/girl campers. Family Group Leaders work with our Day Camps, Resident (over-night) Camps, Adventure Camps, and Special Needs Camps. Family Group Leaders live in the bunk rooms with their assigned campers. Age group assignments rotate weekly.

Missions Team Coordinators 

Tekoa Missions is a uniqe program designed to offer turn-key missions experiences for youth groups, working to ensure area home owners are warmer, safer and dryer. Missions Coordinators work with adult leaders, home owners, volunteers and youth participants to oversee home repair and improvement projects as well as community outreach projects. Their days are spent on work sites and evenings are spent enjoying camp atmosphere and leading worship. Read more at tekoafoothills.org/missions

Summer Support Staff

Support Staff Members facilitate many aspects of camp life that are critical to our campers. They do work behind the scenes and come alongside Mission Team Coordinators and Family Group Leaders to encourage, resource and offer support. Most Summer Support Staff positions require a full summer commitment and may require additional training or certifictions.

Kitchen Manager 

Kitchen Staff

Grounds & Maintenance Assistants

Adventure Facilitators

Lifeguards

CDL Drivers

Camp Tekoa Inc. requires all new summer staff applicants to complete 3 reference forms: (1) pastor, youth leader,  or small group leader, (2) teacher, (3) person of their choosing. Return staff must complete one reference from their pastor, youth leader or small group leader. Please use the link for the form below.

Our staff are what makes the difference here at Tekoa Foothills.  Staff members are highly trained high school and college aged students who focus on providing campers an incredible experience.  They know how to have fun!  They will also guide the progressive skill-building that is unique to the programs at Tekoa Foothills with archery, painting,  photography, pottery, culinary crafting, outdoor life skills, horseback riding, river paddling, and eco-adventures.

Our mission at Camp Tekoa Inc. is "Touching Hearts, Changing Lives, and Sharing the Light of Christ." Through fun programming and outdoor ministry, our staff are able to meet our mission and help make a difference in many campers' lives.

Volunteer

Foothills is always open to those interested in volunteering! To work as a summer volunteer, interested individuals must complete the following form, pass a background check, and be approved by the administration staff.
