Family Group Leaders (FGLs) make up the majority of the Tekoa Foothills summer camp staff. They are paired up with another Family Group Leader each week and together they are in charge of facilitating weekly camp activities for their assigned group of 14 boy/girl campers. Family Group Leaders work with our Day Camps, Resident (over-night) Camps, Adventure Camps, and Special Needs Camps. Family Group Leaders live in the bunk rooms with their assigned campers. Age group assignments rotate weekly.
Tekoa Missions is a uniqe program designed to offer turn-key missions experiences for youth groups, working to ensure area home owners are warmer, safer and dryer. Missions Coordinators work with adult leaders, home owners, volunteers and youth participants to oversee home repair and improvement projects as well as community outreach projects. Their days are spent on work sites and evenings are spent enjoying camp atmosphere and leading worship. Read more at tekoafoothills.org/missions.
Support Staff Members facilitate many aspects of camp life that are critical to our campers. They do work behind the scenes and come alongside Mission Team Coordinators and Family Group Leaders to encourage, resource and offer support. Most Summer Support Staff positions require a full summer commitment and may require additional training or certifictions.
These positions include:
Store Manager & Media Specialist
Grounds & Maintenance Assistant
B-Team (Adventure Facilitators, Lifeguards)
Hampton Household Assistant
Maker - Creative Arts Director
