What is Service Sunday?
Service Sunday is an opportunity for members of the community to spend an afternoon at Tekoa Foothills working alongside our staff to complete various on or off-site projects. Tekoa Foothills provides the equipment and tools needed for each project. Prior to the event, participants are informed if any additional tools are required. To conclude the afternoon, our staff provides a free, warm meal to every volunteer as a way to give gratitude for their involvement and hard work.
Who can participate?
Anyone who is willing and able to lend a helping hand is welcome to participate.
When does it happen?
The second Sunday of every month from 3:00-6:00pm. Located at Tekoa Foothills 258 Hull Road Casar, North Carolina 28020.
How do I RSVP?
Please wear closed-toed shoes. Bring work gloves and a water bottle. The expectations of each service project are explained clearly and concisely to ensure that every volunteer feels competent in their ability to successfully complete projects. The highly trained Maintenance Director aids volunteers by providing demonstrations and explanations for using tools and equipment. All service projects are outside, therefore masks are not required but rather suggested. Whenever indoors, guests are required to wear a mask. All volunteers are safely able to socially distance or to request a specific project for their nuclear family. Meals are either prepared and wrapped individually or served by the Tekoa Foothills staff. Volunteers are encouraged to utilize outdoor seating during meal time.
